The 1986 World Cup mascot resembled how Mexico´s culture wanted to blend with football. A typical Mexican man with a moustache and the Mariachi sombrero, coupled with a football on his left foot.
The colours alluded to the typical spicy green flavours. The tournament organizer ended up his journey when lost 4-1 in a penalty shoot-out during the quarter-finals against the powerhouse Germany.
The winners were the legendary Argentinians with Diego Armando Maradona lifting the trophy and scoring two of his career most famous goals: the Hand of God against England and the one where he dribbles almost all the opponent´s players and blesses football with his glory.
