Product description

The 1982 world cup held in Spain saw a display of football magicians dancing through all the stadiums. From Camp Nou to Vicente Calderón, Balaídos, La Rosaleda, La Romareda and other many iconic stadiums as the final one Santiago Bernabéu, the country of the bull dressed as the Naranjito to welcome the world to witness history in the making.

The choice fell over the unexpected figure of orange to avoid using the classic icons of Spanish culture. The bull, tambourine and other similar signs. By distancing and creating a new aura, this mascot was received with mixed reactions, but once stabilised, it became a billion-dollar licensing brand and recognisable as the 1982 mascot.

Furthermore, the colours and orange shape allude to what the sceneries of the community of Andalusia and Valencia depict us: large farms filled with orange trees.
