Product description
West Germany victory for 1-0 in the 1990 World Cup Final marks a match of many firsts: this was the first rematch, the first defending champion to reach the final and lose (Argentina), the first time a UEFA side defeated a CONMEBOL side and West Germany became the first team to play in three consecutive finals.

Played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, West Germany sealed the victory with a late penalty by Andreas Brehme. Said to be one of the most cynical and ugliest World Cup finals, both sides disagreed in the end on who should have been the winner.

Maradona said that the referee had a clear impact on the result while German coach Franz Beckenbauer stated “We could have won, 3-0. I don’t remember a single chance Argentina had to score a goal”.
