Sheva displayed his killer instincts during 111 caps with 48 goals whilst playing for Ukraine. The ultimate striker, the name which kids used to call each other at pre-school when playing football in-between classes. The man who took the glory of the first football console games.

All around, a man-tailored for big moments: from football to politics and lately as a coach. Sheva´s career, both internationally and at club level showed football fans a unique, sharp, relentless, and energetic striker. If you open a football book and look for the strikers, you could be depicted only with movements from this opportunistic striker. Probably  one of the best centre-forwards to have played the game and taken this position to a higher dimension. Taking us back in time a bit, let´s see as a context, the year 1999: his transfer from Dynamo Kyiv to A.C. Milan cost $25 million setting a new record at the time. The reason leading the Rossoneri to invest such sum can be explained by the previous season at Dynamo Kyiv with 19 goals in 23 league matches plus six goals in 10 Champions League matches (including a stunning hat-trick over two legs against the Spanish side, Real Madrid). This was just the start.

During all these years, including the times at Chelsea, Sheva won the Champions League (2002-2003), was 7x top scorer in different competitions, 6x Ukrainian Footballer of the Year, 1x Italian Champion, 5x Ukrainian Champion, several times cup winner in Italy, Ukraine, and England.

Nonetheless, Sheva´s biggest impact was and still is local: in his country, at home. For the legacy built-in worldwide football, his personality took him beyond pitches to the leadership side. From politician to lead the national side, Sheva personifies a culture and you can still see that very clearly in every team he coaches.
