The 2014 World Cup had a bittersweet flavour for the football fans. On one hand, Germany a real team where every player´s skills were at the disposal of the collective. An impressive and effective side that had already shown their potential when defeating 4-1 Portugal and 7-1 against Brazil in the semi-final.

On the other side, also a team that turned its collective and tactical power into one of the main strengths, but the main weapon was Lionel Messi, who ended but by not succeeding, therefore not reaching the title that could have set him apart from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The final played at Maracanã between the world´s (probably) best player against the best team was a very disputed match, only settled on the 113th minute when André Schürrle found Mario Gotze who shot a volley that Sergio Romero did not manage to hold.
