Product description

El Monumental, further known as Estadio Antonio Vespucio Liberti, also as River Plate Stadium and Monumental de Nuñez is a 70,074-seater coliseum born in 1938.

For a more accurate reference, the name El Monumental was the official name between 1938-86 for the largest stadium in Argentina. The home of Argentina´s national football team (Selección de fútbol de Argentina) has seen some renovations but nothing that affects its DNA.

Located in the northern part of Buenos Aires, in the Belgrano area near the banks of Rio de la Plata, this venue has seen the Covid-19 created an opportunity to face another renovation to improve team-fan connection as one.

It is indeed one of those places on the To-do list for every football fan who visits a city with so much mysticism around football. A country that gave born to Maradona, Messi, and other football gods, has in El Monumental a bulwark of football.

A place that has written history by being the main playing venue for the 1978 World Cup and by hosting River Plate´s matches.

Last, and more importantly, the gravitas given to this place has been supported by having seen players such as Alfredo di Stéfano, Ariel Ortega, Hernán Crespo, Pablo Aimar, Javier Saviola, Javier Mascherano, and Fernando Cavenaghi put on the shirt of “Los Milionarios” and call El Monumental, home.
